The oral doctoral examination of Hillary Bermudez, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Friday, June 21, at 9 a.m. via Zoom.

Bermudez’s advisor is Professor Duane T. Graysay. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Nicole Fonger, and Bong Gee Jang. Professor Lee Kennard will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Using Self-explanation Tasks Designed from Principles of Variation Theory to Investigate Undergraduates’ Learning of Reading Strategies to Comprehend Mathematical Proofs.”
