Dr. Brinda Charry G’05 of Keene State College will discuss her new historical novel, “The East Indian,” which draws on both historical sources and novelistic imagination to tell the story of the first Indian to reach North America. Specifically, it recounts the life of Tony, a boy captured in India in the early 17th century and taken first to London, then to colonial Virginia.
