Syracuse University Libraries’ Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) is accepting proposals now through April 26, 2024 for two Faculty Fellows for the 2025-2026 academic year.  Join us for an information session on the program.  SCRC’s Instruction & Education Librarian and Faculty Fellows Program coordinator, Jana Rosinski, will be available to answer questions about the application process for the fellowship, as well as speak about this unique teaching opportunity.

About the SCRC Faculty Fellows Program

SCRC annually accepts proposals for two Faculty Fellows who want to provide students with an experiential learning opportunity to engage with SCRC’s primary source materials as a core component in their classes. The program supports innovative curriculum development and fosters new ideas about how to transform the role of special collections and archival research in university instruction. Each fellow receives a $5,000 fellowship payment and completes a summer residency at SCRC that includes workshops and training sessions on handling special collections materials, teaching students how to research within and across collections, and designing hands-on, individualized, creative and critically-minded activities, conversations, and assignments with rare materials.

Come ask questions about the fellowship, teaching with primary sources, and other ways to engage students with collections at SCRC. Please direct any questions to Jana Rosinski, SCRC’s Instruction & Education Librarian, at jrosinsk@syr.edu.
