March’s Early Career Research in Neuroscience Seminar Series on Thursday, March 21 on Zoom will feature a presentation by Dr. Asieh Zadbood.
Asieh Zadbood, a postdoctoral researcher from the Department of Psychology at Columbia University, will talk about her work researching how the interaction of past and present experiences plays out in service of adaptive behavior, and how the brain supports these functions (Zadbood et al, eLife, 2022). She uses innovative naturalistic experimental paradigms and neural (fMRI and ECoG) and computational methods to understand how the memory system supports (re)constructive brain processes. This work has exciting implications for examining the mechanisms of memory in adaptive behavior and has future possibilities in the study of these systems in psychiatric disorders.
Title: “How does the memory system (re)construct our experiences?”
