Visit Syracuse University Libraries’ Special Collections Research Center to check out the Fall 2024 exhibition, Destroy All Monsters: Developments in Fandom and Participatory Culture.

Explore how fan bases from genres such as literature, film and music have radically shifted over the past century from mere consumers of media to active participants in it. The complex history of creative expression in fandom is represented in the exhibition by a variety of materials, ranging from Sci-fi fan letters to punk fanzines to photographs of cosplayers and conventioneers. Taken in full, the materials displayed seek to illustrate the legacy of fan participation from the pre-internet era through the current day.
