Each week you can listen to scripture for around 20-40 minutes, followed by a small lunch. This semester, we’ll be reading 1 Samuel & 2 Samuel. This is a public event, open to all.
Public Reading of Scripture is an event based on an ancient Christian practice rooted in passages like 1 Timothy 4:13, where Paul instructs Timothy to devote himself to reading the Bible aloud to others. This tradition involves gathering as a community to listen to extensive sections of scripture being read together, offering a chance for individuals, believers and seekers alike, to immerse themselves in God’s Word, and providing a non-threatening way for people to encounter the Christian faith. By regularly hearing larger portions of the Bible, participants develop a deeper understanding of scripture’s overall narrative and themes.
