Professor Pacheco, author of Experimenting with Emerging Media Platforms: Field Testing the Future (Routledge, 2023), will look at how Extended Reality (XR) technology can be applied by students, faculty or staff, at low cost and with vivid results.

  1. What’s new and what’s ahead for XR after the launch of Apple Vision Pro
  2. Capturing reality in 3D from your phone through photogrammetry and “Gaussian Splats”
  3. Stepping into immersive environments with potential for new applications in storytelling, teaching and learning
