Dans la maison (France, 2012)

This semester, as part of celebrating its 50 years as a multilingual, multicultural department, the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics (LLL) is hosting a film series.

The French Film Festival runs every Thursday in October (7 p.m., Kittredge Auditorium). Each film has been thoughtfully selected by one of our graduate students, who also lead a post-screening Q&A session, engaging undergraduates in deeper discussions about the cultural and historical contexts of these films. The films span several decades and genres, reflecting the department’s commitment to exploring the rich diversity of French cinema. This series underscores the deep connection between language, culture, and the art of cinema – a French invention! – that continues to shape global storytelling. It serves as a proud celebration of both French film and our department’s 50-year legacy of fostering cross-cultural understanding and intellectual exploration.
