October 25, 2024 at 12:00pm1:30pm EDT

Bird Library, room 608

This session will highlight content and specific features within the library-provided resource Sage Data. The collection includes statistical datasets from a variety of public and private sources, such as government agencies at the local and federal level, and both national and international data sources in finance, economics, population, elections, income, health statistics, and other topics. Sage Data provides a range of tools and visualizations to assist researchers in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data, and it supports researchers at all levels with data literacy.

In this session, Ana Guimaraes, Engagement Librarian at Sage Publications, will provide an overview of the platform’s content and features and how to apply them for research or in the classroom.

Attendees will:

  • Browse data by creator, topic, NAICS code, or keyword search and locate relevant datasets
  • Download, compare, and cite datasets from multiple sources
  • Explore key features and tools within Sage Data, including chart manipulation and the data calculator
  • Navigate the library’s website to find Sage Data and other Sage resources quickly

Bring your own laptop if you wish to follow along or explore on your own during the session. Lunch will be provided by Sage. Registration is limited to 24 participants. Please sign up to attend using the registration form.
