As part of our Global Charity Week, Syracuse University Muslim Students’ Association will host MSA Paint Night. Paint Night is designed to provide a creative and relaxing experience for students. Participants will gather in a welcoming environment to engage in painting activities, fostering community and friendship among attendees. The event is open to all skill levels, encouraging self-expression through art while promoting inclusivity. All necessary painting supplies will be available for participants.

Charity Week is “a volunteer-led campaign that raises money for children in need and orphans around the world. The campaign’s goals include:

  • Inspiring young people to be active, socially engaged and united in their shared Islamic and humanitarian values.
  • Demonstrating that unity can solve problems, not money.
  • Showing that people are stronger together than apart.
  • Providing a lasting solution to the suffering of children through unity.

Through this fundraising event, we aim to raise awareness and funds for our goal for Charity Week and unite our efforts to positively impacte lives of those in need, embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion which is central to our values. Additionally, Sadaqah (charity) is a core principle of Islam and this event serves to fulfill one of the obligations of Muslims.

We will be collecting RSVPs to ensure the headcount is accurate and updated. We will be collecting funds through the Syracuse storefront page to ensure we can track people that donated, etc. This event will provide an opportunity for people in the community to engage with Muslim students and learn more about Muslim faith and cultural practices. This event is on campus and open to the entire Syracuse University and SUNY ESF community. We encourage everyone to to join us in making a difference.
