Publishing papers is critical to your graduate development, but the process can be opaque and even confusing. Indeed, as an author, you are faced with a bewildering array of publishing options, each with their own nuances. Join Emily Hart, Science Librarian, Research Impact Lead, for a hands-on workshop exploring the academic journal publishing process, including topics like:
- Identifying high quality journals
- Types of peer review
- Publishing models and open access
- Author’s rights
- Preprints and repositories
These topics will serve as an introduction to a follow-up workshop on open-access publishing later in the semester.
This workshop counts towards completion of the Research Skills & Scholarly Publishing badge in the BioInspired Institute’s Graduate Student and Postdoc Professional Development Program.
This event was first published on July 26, 2024 and last updated on August 7, 2024.
