Bird Library, Faculty Commons

This event has already occurred. The information may no longer be valid.

Join us for a lively discussion where faculty panelists will share their thoughts and experiences working with some of the fastest growing publishers, including MDPI and Frontiers. In an era of new publishing venues, business models and shifting perspectives on issues of journals’ quality and trustworthiness, how do you choose an appropriate venue for your work? Should you publish in an MDPI or Frontiers’ journal? What should you consider when evaluating a journal? Panelists will answer questions like these, while discussing the merits of different publishers/venues.

The panel discussion will take place from 4:00-5:00 pm, and there will be time to talk with colleagues over refreshments before and after the presentation.

Panelists: John Chisholm (Chemistry), Heather Coleman (Biology), Aaron Mohammed (Earth and Environmental Sciences; Civil and Environmental Engineering), Mary Beth Browning Monroe (Biomedical and Chemical Engineering), and Margaret Voss (Nutrition and Food Studies)

Moderator & Speaker: Dylan Mohr (SU Libraries)

Registration for this event is required and the event will be capped at 60 people.
