About “Watershed”
Paralyzed at the age of 18, Mallory Weggemann found refuge in the pool as a swimmer and has gone on to win five Paralympic medals. Now, she’s not only looking to reclaim her spot on the podium, but she’s also trying to become a mother.
In “Watershed,” which was self-documented by Weggemann and her husband Jay Snyder, Weggemann is training for the Tokyo Paralympics during the challenges of COVID-19. Battling an additional injury to her arm, her athletic career is in question. Against the backdrop of this existential crossroads, Weggemann and Snyder bravely share their struggles with infertility and the importance of IVF as the couple pulls back the curtain on their journey to start a family.
About Mallory Weggemann and Jay Snyder
Mallory Weggemann is a multi-time American and world record holder, an ESPN ESPY award recipient, and a five-time Paralympic medalist. In addition to her athletic career, Mallory has worked as an on-air reporter and host with NBC for the 2018 Pyeongchang and 2022 Beijing Paralympic Games. In 2024, she became the first Paralympic athlete to host Olympic coverage for NBCU on E! and CNBC. In 2021, she released her memoir, “Limitless: The Power of Hope and Resilience to Overcome Circumstance,” and has built a thriving career as a motivational speaker.
Jay Snyder has had a notable career in the sports industry for the past two decades, starting in market research at the NBA before transitioning to athlete representation. He has blended his passion for sport and storytelling while working exclusively with Paralympic athletes and brands. He has witnessed first-hand the power that sport holds to transcend the field of play and serve as a catalyst for social inclusion.
Mallory and Jay are co-CEOs and co-founders of TFA Group, a social impact agency and production studio. They have served as producers, writers and directors on a wide range of projects, from branded content to documentaries. As a husband-and-wife duo, they are utilizing their passion to fuel their purpose—creating greater representation for individuals with disabilities.
