Mad Scholars: Reclaiming and Reimagining the Neurodiverse Academy: A book talk with editors Melanie Jones and Shayda Kafai
April 17, 2025 at 5:00pm – 6:30pm EDT
Bird Library, Peter Graham Scholarly Commons (Room 114)

By offering concrete steps and strategies that radically reimagine the current academic landscape, Mad Scholars opens our eyes to much-needed innovations in research, pedagogy, and community, ones which promise to transform higher education and create vital paths for scholarly innovation. Join co-editors Melanie Jones and Shayda Kafai as they discuss how disabled and neurodiverse scholars’ work are richer because of their differences, not in spite of them, and where higher education could go if Mad Scholars were treasured as resources, recognized as assets, and embraced as change-makers.
