First-Generation Mixed Tapes: A Space to Celebrate Intersectionality
April 22, 2025 at 4:00pm – 5:00pm EDT
Schine Student Center, 132
Each month, Syracuse University’s First-Generation Programs partners with different offices around campus to hold space for first-generation college students of all identities. In these spaces, we discuss different facets of the first-generation experience and have a listening party!
To celebrate Disability Pride Month, we will be hosting our affinity event in the Intercultural Collective (located in 132 Schine Student Center) with the goal of having a conversation about what it means to be disabled and a first-generation student. Listen to music with a DJ through the SENSES Project and make your very own sensory bottle while we engage in a rich discussion!
All are welcome to participate in this event as we continue to support and strengthen our intersectional community. If you would like to suggest a song for this month’s playlist, please submit it through our MachForm. We hope to see you there!
Please reach out to Tiffani-Marie Fite (tpfite@syr.edu) to request accommodations.
