Syracuse: In Our Own Backyards / In Our Own Communities
February 2, 2025 at 3:00pm – 5:00pm EST
Watson Hall
All are welcome to this on-campus screening of works by the Teens with Movie Camera collab. Through their short films and discussion, Syracuse high school students reflect on their experiences of creating and engaging in their communities, using readily available tools such as the smartphones in their pockets.
About the presenters: TwMC is a community project consisting of teens, local artists, art-media faculty and students who demonstrate anyone can make powerful films, regardless of resources. Rooted in the spirit of independent cinema and DIY filmmaking, their motto is, “Work with what you have. Where you are. Be smart, make ART!”
This event is part of the Humanities Center’s 2024-2025 Syracuse Symposium series on “Community.”
This event was first published on October 31, 2024 and last updated on November 1, 2024.
