K-12 Teacher Experiences & Strategies in Undergraduate Classrooms
January 29, 2025 at 12:30pm – 2:00pm EST
Lyman Hall, 312
Join this round-table discussion, facilitated by Teaching Mentor and Cultural Foundations of Education doctoral student Amanda Kingston, as we reflect on and discuss the differences between teaching and facilitating classrooms in K-12 and undergraduate spaces. We’ll discuss the overlap and distinctions in our experiences working within institutions, best teaching practices, and building classroom communities. We’ll also discuss the strategies that have worked well in former K-12 spaces and how these can make for richer undergraduate classroom experiences. While this session is framed for former K-12 educators who now teach undergraduates as teaching assistants, all are welcome to join to learn from former K-12 educator experiences.
