ODI Lunch and Learn: “We Came in Like a Wrecking Ball!”: Dismantling Concepts of Professionalism
July 17, 2025 at 12:00pm – 1:00pm EDT
Schine Student Center, 304ABC
In our society one must look “THE PART” and act “THE PART” to be successful. We are often socialized to believe that there is a universal understanding of professionalism, when in fact the term is culturally specific. We often do not ask what “THE PART” is and why it is relevant to our success. Overlooking playing “THE PART” could have ramifications for navigating one’s career or staff success. This session will discuss ways we can implement more inclusive work practices to allow authenticity and success in the workplace without forsaking tools needed to work.
Lunch and CART captioning will be provided.
