Dissertation Defense: John Abercrombie

The oral doctoral examination of John Abercrombie, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Monday, June 9,  at 10 a.m. in 504 Hall of Languages.

John Abercrombie’s advisor is Professor Gareth Fisher. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Jeanette Jouili, and James Watts. Professor Norman Kutcher will serve as chair of the defense.  The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Daoist Culture in Wudang Shan: Enchanted Heritage, Neo-Traditionalism, and Secular Spirituality.
