June 30, 2025 at 1:30pm2:30pm EDT

Virtual (See event details)

Summer Skill Builders for grad students and postdocs are intended to help you take full advantage of the academic “off season” to reach significant milestones in your program and/or career development. This session is the first of two centered on applying for external fellowships or research/dissertation support awards. Building a track record of successfully acquiring these opportunities as a grad student or postdoc can help you continue doing so throughout your career. We’ll share advice on how to find funding opportunities so that you can build a successful funding record now and in the future, as well as available resources to support you as you write your applications. The session is led by Melissa Welshans from the Center for Fellowship & Scholarship Advising (CFSA) and Dan Olson-Bang from the Graduate School.
