ODI Lunch and Learn: “Addressing Cultural Gaps Among Students: Exercises for Breaking Down Barriers in Multiple Disciplines”

Newhouse Professors Elliott Lewis, Esq. and Keonte Coleman, Ph.D. will discuss various exercises they have designed to raise students’ awareness of diversity issues in media and the implications for society. These exercises include listening post assignments, media content audits, and personal life reflections. Although originally designed for journalism students, a number of these activities can be utilized across disciplines to help break down cultural barriers.
