A Void / Avoid / a v o i d
May 1, 2025 – May 11, 2025 PDT
The Fulcrum 422 Ord St 2nd Floor Los Angeles, CA 90012
“A Void / Avoid / a v o i d” features work by the three School of Art graduate students in the Spring 2025 Turner Semester residency in Los Angeles: Teddy Berg, Sophia Hashemi, and Carla Erausquin. An opening reception will be held Saturday, May 3, from 7-10 p.m. PT.
The exhibition brings together the work of three artists confronting the void—not as emptiness, but as a space filled with presence, fracture, and effusiveness. In exploring what is absent, fragmented, or overflowing, the void becomes a space charged with meaning. To avoid is not merely to flee, but to circle the edges of understanding, where absence paradoxically brings presence and fracture, calling attention to care. “A Void / Avoid / a v o I d” is alive with possibility, shaped as much by what is missing as by what spills over.
Gallery hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 1-5 p.m. PT and by appointment.
