SyracuseCoE Research & Technology Forum: A Mixed Use Multifamily Building with GSHPs for Space and Water Heating
May 14, 2025 at 3:30pm – 5:00pm EDT
727 E. Washington St., Room 203
Join SyracuseCoE for a Research & Technology Forum, featuring a presentation from Hugh Henderson, Principal, Owahgena Consulting.
Zer0 Place is a new multifamily building with retail spaces on the first floor in New Paltz, NY. This high-efficiency building installed geothermal heat pumps for space heating and space cooling. Additional heat pumps were also installed on the ground loop to provide domestic hot water (DHW). Detailed monitoring was installed in this building to measure and analyze its energy performance over multiple years. The results demonstrated the heat pump systems performed well, with considerable synergy from meeting the space conditioning and DHW loads using the same ground heat exchanger.
