Dissertation Defense: Gal Stav

The oral doctoral examination of Gal Stav, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Wednesday, May 21, at 10 am in 504 Hall of Languages, the Religion Department Seminar Room.

Stav’s advisor is Professor Zachary Braiterman. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Philip Arnold, and James Watts. Professor Stephanie Shirilan will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Representation of the Moroccan Henna Ceremony in the Israeli Press: A Seven-Decade Analysis of Religious, Cultural and Identity Shifts within Moroccan Jewry.”
