“Music and Message” — the popular weekly series from Hendricks Chapel — is back! Join us every Sunday at 4pm, through November 22, to be inspired and uplifted!

The program will include musical performances and spoken reflections from a diversity of religious and spiritual perspectives. The event will be livestreamed on Zoom webinar.

The Fall 2020 “Music and Message” series concludes with a special program focusing on gratitude. During this time of year, in which we are often compelled to reflect and give thanks, we invite you to share what you are most thankful for in the midst of such challenges times. Dr. José “Peppie” Calvar and Dr. Anne Laver perform music of praise and thanksgiving by J. S. Bach, Dieterich Buxtehude, Margaret Sandresky, and Ernesto Lecuona. The program will also include a video montage featuring submissions of Syracuse University faculty, staff and students highlighting expressions of gratitude.

Our theme for this semester is “Beauty/Brokenness”. In the midst of unprecedented times, we will explore the ways in which beauty can emerge from brokenness, and also, how brokenness can be found within that which is often deemed to be beautiful.

In accordance to COVID-19 regulations, this week all guests, including students, staff, faculty, parents and alumni are invited to attend through Zoom webinar, which will open at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday.

The event is free and registration is not required.
