Join us virtually or limited in-person as we listen to Odds Bodkin tell us three terrifying tales to get us in the Halloween spirit!

Called “a consummate storyteller” by the New York Times and “one of the great voices in American storytelling” by Wired, Odds Bodkin combines character voices, vocal effects and live acoustic music while telling his stunning tales. He has performed at The White House, Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center, across America and Great Britain and live at Syracuse in the past. He looks forward to returning on Zoom for Heartpounders: Halloween Horror for Adults.

His three tales in this hour-long show grow increasingly terrifying. First, The Storm Breeder scored on 12-string guitar. Here’s an old New England legend about a soaking wet ghost chased by angry thunderstorms, and a curious man who hunts him down, much to his regret. Next, The Panther Boys, a Chinese tale about sons who turn to killer panthers and must come for their own father. Performed on alto recorder with eerie wind effects and the roars of beasts. Lastly, Treasure Trove, scored on a 2nd 12-string guitar. This dark tale from Russia digs into graves, finds gold and watches a greedy fool in bloody goat horns experience the justice of true horror.
