VIRTUAL: Propelling NASA’s Perseverance Rover, Frank Slazer ’80 ’81

Maxwell alumni, students, and friends are invited to join graduates and students from the College of Engineering and Computer Science for a virtual forum on Wednesday, September 2 at 4:00-5:00 p.m. ET. Alumnus Frank Slazer ’80 ECS/’81 BA (PSc), Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for civil and commercial space programs at Aerojet Rocketdyne, will discuss the critical role Aerojet Rocketdyne is playing in NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover mission.

Frank A. Slazer ’80, ’81 is Vice President, Strategy and Business Development for civil and commercial space programs at Aerojet Rocketdyne in Canoga Park, CA. Prior to joining Aerojet Rocketdyne, Frank served as Vice President, Space Systems, for the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), an industry trade organization representing America’s aerospace companies. Frank is a Fellow of the American Astronautical Society (2013) and served as a member of the Dept. of Transportation’s Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee (COMSTAC) 2013-2016. Before joining AIA in 2011, he was with Northrop Grumman Corporation. He began his career as a propulsion engineer on the McDonnell Douglas Delta Launch Vehicle. In addition to his responsibilities with industry, from 2008 to 2012, Frank served as President of American Astronautical Society. Slazer’s education includes both a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the College of Engineering and Computer Science and a BA in Political Science from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. Full bio
