Come watch 11 Syracuse University thesis-writers square off in the finals of the annual 3-Minute Thesis research communication competition. Contestants have 180 seconds to convey the nature, significance, and inherent interest of their research to non-specialists, using only one static projected image (i.e., slide). A multidisciplinary panel of faculty judges determines the winner, while the audience awards the “People’s Choice.” This year’s finalists include: Fadi Al-Issa (PhD, Teaching and Curriculum), Sagnik Basumallik (PhD, EECS), Meagan Bojarski (MA, Communication and Rhetorical Studies), Megan Cartier (PhD, Special Education), Laura Jack (PhD, Higher Education), Diana Katovich (PhD, Higher Education), Ezikio López (PhD, Composition and Cultural Rhetoric), Mary Pagán (PhD, Sociology), Michael Kent Wilkinson (PhD, Physics), Zheng Xiong (PhD, Biomedical and Chemical Engineering), and Hediyeh Zamani (PhD, Chemistry). Come hear about their work and find out who prevails!
