Toner Prizes Celebration featuring Sen. Cory Booker

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey will deliver keynote remarks for the virtual ceremony honoring the winners of the 2021 Toner Prizes for Excellence in Political Reporting.

Master of ceremonies for the prerecorded ceremony will be Newhouse alumna Melanie Hicken ’09, senior writer with CNN Investigates. Chancellor Kent Syverud and Newhouse dean Mark Lodato will also offer remarks.

The Toner Prizes, sponsored by the Newhouse School, honor the life and work of late alumna Robin Toner ’76, the first woman to be national political correspondent for The New York Times. Prizes will be presented for local and national reporting.
