A globe is a sphere or ball that bears a map of the Earth on its surface, typically hollow, made of almost any material. Some globes depict natural features, others man-made constructs such a countries or cities. The globes in this exhibit are from Bird Library’s map collection as well as selections from the collection of John Olson, Government and Geo-Information Librarian.
