The oral doctoral examination of Colin French, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Tuesday, July 26, at 10  a.m. in 100 Eggers Hall

French’s advisor is Professor Shana Gadarian. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Emily Thorson, Steven White, Erin Hern and Seth Jolly. Professor Leonard Newman will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Social Pressure & Accuracy Motivations- Strategies to address problems of Directionally Motivated Reasoning in Political Information Processing.”
