In the last session of the Graduate School’s 4-part series on Applying for Academic Jobs, Dr. Zakiya Wilson-Kennedy, Research Associate Professor of Chemistry Education and Assistant Dean for Diversity and Inclusion in the College of Science at Louisiana State University, covers the elements of strong diversity statements and provides insight into what hiring committees are looking for when they read one. You’ll learn how to highlight past experiences; think critically about how to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in a new position; and how to avoid common pitfalls when talking about your commitment to diversity.
