Is Free Speech Killing Democracy?

The State of Democracy Lecture Series welcomes Jacob Mchangama, founder and executive director of Justitia, Denmark’s first judicial think tank. He is also the host and narrator of the podcast, Clear and Present Danger: a history of free speech. He has written and commented extensively on free speech and human rights in outlets including the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, NPR, and more. He will discuss his forthcoming book, “Free Speech: A History from Socrates to Social Media.”

Reception and book signing will follow the lecture. This series is coordinated by the Campbell Public Affairs Institute. A Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) will be provided.
