Dissertation Defense: Qunfang Wu

The oral doctoral examination of Qunfang Wu, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Monday, May 9, at 12 p.m.in Zoom.

Wu’s advisors are Professor Bryan Semaan and Jeff Hemsley. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Clifford Lampe, Beth J.H. Patin, Carsten Østerlund, and Danielle T. Smith. Professor Kendall R Phillips will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Conversations About Crime: Reinforcing and Fighting Against Platformed Racism on Reddit.”
