The Department of Art and Music Histories proudly presents the 2023 Doris Lecture featuring Dr. Jolene Rickard.

Dr. Jolene Rickard (Tuscarora Nation), Associate Professor at Cornell University, is currently the William Fleming Distinguished Visiting Professor in Art History at Syracuse University. She is an internationally acclaimed curator and artist, and a leading scholar on Indigenous visual sovereignty and best museum practices. Dr. Rickard co-curated the inaugural exhibitions “Our Peoples” and “Our Lives” for the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C.

This program is presented by the Department of Art & Music Histories and is co-sponsored by the Humanities Center.
