The Role of Libraries in Fighting Misinformation: The Tulsa 1921 Race Massacre

As part of National Library Week 2023 (April 23 – 29) with the theme “There’s More to the Story,” join Syracuse University Libraries’ guest presenter, Adrienne Teague ’18, a public librarian in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as she shares “The Role of Libraries in Fighting Misinformation: The Tulsa 1921 Race Massacre.”

Teague will speak on her library’s efforts to fight the false representation of the atrocities which occurred in the Greenwood district of Tulsa, Oklahoma between May 31 – June 1, 1921.  An alumnus of the iSchool at Syracuse University, she has been recognized and awarded for her community education programs centering on the Tulsa Race Massacre which occurred just blocks from where the current library building stands.
