Flannery Cunningham
Stacy Garrop
Anthony R. Green

Society for New Music and the Department of Art and Music Histories host this afternoon concert of “Repair” works by Cunningham (I Told You); Garrop (Glorious Mahalia); and Green (Collide-oscope IV; Hush of Nightfall; chaimo la Morte).

New music always reimagines, and this program of compositions by four composers includes music that revisits justice and identity, pushing society and self to new, reimagined wholeness, — especially well suited to the reimagining that accompanies “repair” work. This music revisits old stories, reconnects identities in new ways, referencing the past but moving forward, all speaking to the common urge to “fix what’s broken.”

This concert is free to all SU students, faculty & staff with valid ID as part of this year’s Syracuse Symposium on “Repair.”
