Join dancer, choreographer, and scholar Dr. Maya Kulkarni for a workshop at the Syracuse University Art Museum.
We will explore Shilpanatanam (Dancing Work of Art), a genre within the Bharatanatyam framework that draws upon sculpture and paintings from historic Hindu temples in India. We will also consider connections to works of Indian art in the Museum’s collection.
Presented as a part of the programming in relation to Shilpanatanam: An Evening of Indian Classical Dance, presented at the Everson Museum of Art on November 7. For more information on the program of events, please visit this website.
