A significant part of becoming a professor is writing for publication. As graduate students entering the job market, we often find ourselves without the appropriate training to navigate disciplinary genre expectations. How do we write for publication? Collaboratively, this session will investigate what graduate students need as writers before they graduate. What actionable advice, training, and methods can we employ as teachers and researchers to better meet the demands of a competitive job market?

Leading the workshop is Zakery Muñoz, a PhD candidate in Composition and Cultural Rhetoric whose dissertation focuses on graduate student writers and interrogates the general absence of writing pedagogy in graduate curricula.

Lunch is provided!
