Join us for the exhibition opening of “In Pursuit of Justice: Pan Am Flight 103.” This year marks the 35th anniversary since the tragic bombing that took the lives of 270 people, including 35 Syracuse University students.

Curated by Pan Am 103 Archivist Vanessa St.Oegger-Menn, “In Pursuit of Justice: Pan Am Flight 103” documents the December 21, 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland that claimed the lives of 270 individuals, including 35 students returning from studying abroad through Syracuse University. Featuring materials donated to the Pan Am Flight 103/Lockerbie Air Disaster Archives at Syracuse University Libraries’ Special Collections Research Center by the victims’ loved ones and members of the investigative teams, the exhibition provides an overview of the disaster, investigation, and first trial at Kamp van Zeist in the Netherlands.

The exhibition is on view at the Special Collections Research Center, Bird Library, 6th floor gallery for the fall 2023 semester. An opening reception will be held Thursday, September 21, 4:30-6 p.m. For more information, or to request a tour, contact or 315.443.0632.
