ODI Lunch and Learn Series: Complicating Narratives: What Is/What Isn’t Anti-Semitism

April 2, 2024 at 12:00pm1:00pm EDT

Hendricks Chapel, Noble Room

This event has already occurred. The information may no longer be valid.

As a continuation of 2023 The D.E.I.A. Symposium, which sought to spark diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across campus, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion presents a series of sessions that feature students, staff, and faculty who submitted symposium proposals on various D.E.I.A. topics. Lunch will be served. Registration is required.

In this workshop, participants will learn about the history of antisemitism. Together, we will explore our own biases as they relate to Jews and the Land of Israel, and when criticism of the modern state of Israel constitutes antisemitism (and when it does not). Finally, we will discuss how antisemitism shows up on both the far-right and the far-left as one of the many paradoxes of the world’s oldest and most insidious form of hatred.

Kindly please make additional accommodation requests at least one week prior to the event.
