Two Evenings with Filmmaker Jean-Pierre Bekolo

One of the most important directors of our time, Jean-Pierre Bekolo (1966, Yaoundé), has built the reputation of an iconoclast who constantly challenges stereotypes about Africa and African cinemas. He will project two of his recent films, We Black People (2022) on Monday, April 22 in Sims 331, and Miraculous Weapons (2017) on Tuesday, April 23 in Shaffer 121. Both events are scheduled between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Each viewing will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker.
