The Moynihan Institute’s Middle Eastern Studies Program will host Mehrzad Boroujerdi (Missouri University of Science and Technology) and Raz Zimmt (Institute for National Security Studies) for a virtual panel discussion.
The enduring proxy warfare between Israel and Iran has now evolved into a direct military conflict. This panel of experts will discuss the domestic and international political dimensions of the escalating tensions between the two countries.
Panelists:
Institute for National Security Studies (INSS)
Raz Zimmt is a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). He holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Middle Eastern history from Tel Aviv University. He is also a research fellow at the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies at Tel Aviv University and a veteran Iran watcher in the Israeli Defense Forces. His main research interests are politics, foreign relations, and society in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
