Join the Humanities Center to celebrate Douglass Day with a “transcribe-a-thon” where participants across the country will help digitize materials from Black history archives. February 14 is a birthdate claimed by civil rights activist Frederick Douglass, now widely celebrated as a moment to honor and preserve Black history. This year’s crowdsourced digitizing focuses on Frederick Douglass correspondence on file at the Library of Congress.

Aligning with the national hosting organization, this free public event features a festive ‘birthday party’ atmosphere with streamed programming, music and refreshments! All are welcome!
