Please join the iSchool for an interactive conversation expanding on themes from the 2024 Spring Lecture with data scientist and artificial intelligence (AI) expert Rumman Chowdhury.
Dr. Chowdhury’s remarks explored how AI will impact the lives of our students, what policymakers have missed that will significantly affect students—both positively and negatively—and what bearing AI will have on the upcoming U.S. election cycle.
At this event, we will hear from our own AI faculty experts who will engage SU students on these important topics that stand to shape our lives for decades to come.
Panelists will include:
Jaime Banks, associate professor, director of LinkLab, School of Information Studies
Josh Introne, assistant professor, director of the C4 lab,School of Information Studies
Jeff Saltz, associate professor, program director of data science graduate program, School of Information Studies
Baobao Zhang, assistant professor, Maxwell, senior research associate with the Autonomous Systems Policy Institute and the Campbell Public Affairs Institute
Each panelist will provide a 5-minute introduction to what they see as important/interesting issues around generative AI. Panelists will also respond to audience questions. iSchool Dean Andrew Sears will act as moderator.
