This event has already occurred. The information may no longer be valid.

As a continuation of 2023 The D.E.I.A. Symposium, which sought to spark diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across campus, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion presents a series of sessions that feature students, staff, and faculty who submitted symposium proposals on various D.E.I.A. topics. Lunch will be served. Registration for each session is required.

Following the announcement of the world premiere of How to Dance in Ohio at Syracuse Stage, there was a call to promote the work of disabled artists coming to our campus, as well as those who are already part of the surrounding community. This production provided the opportunity for an SU Drama student to establish new pathways to showcase the artwork of SU’s disabled students, staff, and faculty. The success of these projects led to an honors thesis, specifically exploring initiatives for disabled theatre artists. This workshop will be more than just highlighting the events that have passed; it will also demonstrate the necessity and feasibility of organizing future events and developing equitable practices for disabled artists at Syracuse University.

Kindly please make any accommodation requests at least one week prior to the event.
